Revised Bugaboo Bee Plus to hit market in spring 2010, price to increase $100

We're just back from the Vegas trade show and the big stroller news was something Bugaboo didn't want to talk about---the company is planning to release a revised Bee stroller next spring.

Dubbed the "Bee Plus," the revamped Bee will feature a wider, height adjustable seat, adjustable canopy height and upgraded wheels. It will be easier to take off the canopy and reverse the seat position. 

"We launched an unfinished product," a Bugaboo sales rep told a group of retailers, in a bit of a mea culpa on the original Bee. The new Bee Plus will be a much more polished model with hidden hardware and other refinements. Example: gone will the be much hated "wings" on the seat.

And, yes, Bugaboo plans to hike the price of the bee $100 to $630. Recession, what recession?

Of course, all this news comes no thanks to the Bugaboo marketing department. Bugaboo is the only stroller company that hires marketing folks whose job it is to NOT tell the press any details about their products. Even after showing the new stroller scores of retailers, Bugaboo's marketing rep made a point of saying they had nothing to say on the Bee Plus.

don't worry you call their customer service and ask about when it will be available and they know NOTHING ("Not sure when it will be released, maybe in a year?!"). Not just the marketing department but the whole company!!

well, i'm glad that they're improving on the Bee. i really dislike those wings, and canopy is much too low. but $100? no thanks.

honestly, most of the new strollers that i see in my neighborhood are Uppababy Vistas and Orbits, not Bugaboos. now is not the time for this company to be raising its prices.
